Life Script

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by akiskandar on 26-03-2007

I’ve always loved English knight tales. Sir Cedric Gray was one of my childhood hero. They’re knights. That means they’re honored. They’re always good-looking. People adore them and want to be like them. They’re elegant. They behave all the time. At least in public appeareances. The problem is, behind the walls of their castles, lots of them are also immoral.

I find myself much in likeness of them. I always try my best to appear with elegance. I place myself in such places to be honored. I give people reason to easily honor and pay respect to me. Now that seems to be problematic since sometimes my inner life can’t balance out my public life. When that happens, my integrity might be in danger.

These days I’ll be looking for a quality time to be with myself, to be spent alone, to have solitude, that I would gain strength to put my public life again in harmony with my inner life - hopefully for good, now. As a friend of mine put it, "I need to rewrite my life script." My ideal self, the way I perceive myself, though it’s been working pretty well this far, needs a reworking if I want to go yet further.

Life is a series of changes. Some are small. Some are big. Most are continuous. None is once-for-good. It’s a matter of courage now. Courage to reflect. Courage to have a comprehensive self-dialogue. Courage to break through the old me. Courage to metamorphose to a more mature version of myself.

For time evaporates. It’s not coming back. The show goes on. The script must be changed while in the run.

Haiyaaa, you are exaggerating laaaah. We will tackle this one by one.

Referring yourself as an immoral knight ? That’s outright crazy. You’re not anywhere close to that.
A saint does filthy stuff too but he is always ready to repent for the filth and try to stay away from it. Writing this blog entry is a solid proof that you’re a sinner and a saint also. Congrats, my dear friend.

About the elegance and honor. That’s simply because you’re so tall, you know. The tall gets respected more than the short :-).
Stop paying too much attention to all that honor and respect. It’s very dangerous laaah. The point is don’t take yourself too serious, ok? Laugh at yourself often and all the worldly praise wouldn’t get under your skin.

Now about the life script. Your job is to play it, not writing it. Yes, you may try co-writing it with the Writer. But you must do it on stage because it’s not yet time for you to join Him among the audience.
How do you do it then ?
Keep on playing laaaah. Improvise your play here and there. Indulge the audience with fresh lines and stunts. Act as if you want to be on stage forever. Then you know what ? Miracles start to happen right before your very eyes. The story slowly steers itself to a new course. Your life IS changing.
How come, you ask ?
For the script has always been a loose one right from the beginning. It serves as rough sketches only. Turns out that we fill in the details as we play along :-).

Dear friend, that’s all I want to say this time.
Just don’t play that “writing my life script” act again, ok? It’s so boring to watch an actor spending countless hours on stage … writing. The audience wants ACTION.
And that’s exactly what you are going to do RIGHT NOW.
